Sukhwant currently works as a Senior Enterprise Architect in Information Technology for the Canadian Federal Government. Prior to moving to Canada, he worked at India’s premier defense research think tank in New Delhi, The Institute for Defense Studies and Analysis. Sukhwant completed his Masters and PhD from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has completed an Executive MBA program from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management. Sukhwant has served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Public Sector Information Professionals. He is a life-time member of ICOBC.


Jaskaran Singh


Jaskaran Singh is the founder and CEO of Silstone Group, a process automation mobile and web software development firm. He has over 16 years of experience in variety of business and technical roles. He is a strong leader with outstanding skills in business (profit and loss) management, software development and customer relationship management. Beginning in technical/software development role, Jaskaran went on to blend an MBA from Queens University and his experience that ultimately allowed him to become a well rounded executive. He headed operations of a large consulting firm at Alcatel-Lucent managing a P&L over 100 million euros . After having worked with the telecommunication giant, Alcatel-Lucent, he now runs his own
software development firm, Silstone Group, focused on process automation using mobile and web technologies. He holds an undergraduate in Computer Science from Dalhousie University and an MBA from Queens University.

Reema has been working for the Canadian Federal Government for several years. Starting at Citizenship and Immigration Canada as a Program Support Agent, she played a pivotal role in initializing a pilot project for the Department. Reema had also worked other lines of business within the Department and contributed in the creation of training modules and facilitator guides for the Operations Support Branch. She currently works in the Senior Assistant Deputy Minister’s office at Shared Services Canada as a Correspondence and Document Control Officer. Furthermore, Reema holds an Honours
Bachelor Degree in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa. Her studies have further developed her interest in the economic and political ties between Canada and India.

Lakhwinder Saranlakhvinder-pic


Lakhwinder is a versatile, deadline-driven and focused individual offering proficiency in small business development, operations, resource allocations, strategic planning, P&L and contract management. Prior to venturing into business sector, he has worked in telecommunication industry for 14 years. His technical experience includes software development/verification for large voice/data networks and IT solutions for small business. He has also served on Ottawa Sikh Society, a charitable organization’s Board of Directors as a treasurer. Lakhwinder holds undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Victoria, BC. Lakhwinder is also an avid golf player who enjoys the game rain or shine.

Harleen currently works as a Project Officer with Technology and Information Management Directorate of Transport Canada. She has been working for the Federal Government for over 16 years with various roles; Technical Web Officer, Multimedia Publication Officer, and Project Management professional. Prior to moving to Canada in 1996, she worked as an Assistant Professor in Punjab Agricultural University. She holds a Masters Degree in Human Development and Child Psychology from the same university. She completed a certificate in Business Information Systems from Algonquin College in 1999. She has worked with several Indo-Canadian Organizations and charitable campaigns as a cultural coordinator and promoter of their networking events. Harleen also likes to volunteer her time assisting children and seniors with special needs.

Jagatjit Rai,


Jagatjit Rai currently works in a unique national level position as the Chief Electrical and Mechanical Engineer in the
field of Infrastructure & Environment for the Canadian Federal Government at National Defence Head Quarter. He completed
his Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in India and then moved to Canada to do his Master Of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.)
in electrical engineering at the University of Waterloo. He worked for General Motors of Canada, Consulting Engineering
Company, and founded his own consulting engineering company, JSRai Enterprises Ltd., in 1980. He joined the Department
of National Defence in Ottawa in 1982 and since then held various positions such as Senior Engineer, Director, Acting
Director General and Chief Electrical & Mechanical Engineer. He is a member of the Professional Engineers Association
of Ontario, Illumination Engineering Society of North America, and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers,
NY. Jagatjit enjoyed playing sports in the past but now he only enjoys watching it.

Shantanu Dutta

Shantanu Dutta is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. Before his career in academia, he served as a finance manager at Lafarge, a world leader in construction materials. Professor Dutta’s research focuses on mergers and acquisitions, media coverage and financial decisions, corporate governance, and dividend policy. He has published in Journal of Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Journal of Multinational Financial Management, Multinational Finance Journal, Corporate Governance – An International Review among others. He is a recipient of SSHRC grant and Barclays Global Investors Canada Research Award (2006) for the best paper on the Canadian security market. He has also received the Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2009 and 2014 for his published articles in the International Journal of Managerial Finance. Professor Dutta received a PhD from Carleton University.
